Get ready to start dreaming in Italian. Brothers Jack and Phil Rizzuto of Rizzuto Management Group (former owners of Amici and Creole Carre) have fired up the ovens at the old Tony Angello’s Ristorante in Lakeview. The smells of rich Sicilian sauces, tempting meats and savory Creole-Italian spices are wafting out of these kitchens once more – and the crowds are pouring in.

With dishes like chicken marsala, veal piccata, braciole, and chicken scarpariello, Chef Jason Caronna and the Rizzuto team is intent on wowing a new generation of Italian food lovers. Along with oyster pasta, Tortellacci and other dishes you may have heard Marie Barone discuss on “Everybody Loves Raymond,” the menu includes an amazing tomahawk pork chop and steaks with blue cheese, béarnaise or ammoglio (a chunky, garlicky tomato sauce). Rizzuto’s also pays tribute to Angello’s by including items like Brisket and Tomato Salad, Crab Gravy, Marinated Mushrooms, and Eggplant Valentina (a version of Eggplant Tina).
