Restaurant Overview
Some coffee shops give you caffeine. Art Spot Cafe gives you something to look at while you drink it.
Located inside The Art Spot at 2011 Magazine Street, this neighborhood cafe puts you right in the middle of one of the city's newest creative gathering places. The Art Spot brings together working artists, gallery space, exhibitions and events, and the cafe was designed as the natural meeting point for all of it—a place to grab a cup, catch up with a friend or hang out awhile surrounded by original art.
We especially like the fact that it doesn't feel like a coffee shop with some artwork hung on the walls. Art is the whole reason the place exists. Come for coffee, then wander around and see what's on display. Or stop in while you're exploring Magazine Street and discover an artist you didn't know before. That combination of coffee, creativity and community feels very New Orleans to us.
Art Spot Cafe is open Tuesday through Sunday at The Art Spot, 2011 Magazine Street in the Lower Garden District.
Local's tip: Don't leave without heading upstairs. The gallery has café seating tucked among the artwork, making it a great spot to meet a friend, open your laptop or just hang out and soak up a little creative New Orleans energy.
